Boy, we went from “thank you for your service” to “probably a domestic terrorist” pretty quickly.
I first saw this in the Forward Observer Daily SA and then this morning it was picked up by one of our local “news” outlets….

Some of the people who were wandering around the Capitol building on January 6th were veterans, including of course Ashli Babbitt, the Air Force veteran who was murdered in cold blood by Capitol police officer Lieutenant Michael Leroy Byrd, a man who has yet to face any consequences for murdering a vet. Many veterans are very patriotic, having fought for their country, and of course being patriotic is considered a red flag for extremism. Clearly we need to investigate and crackdown on wrong think in the military.
The language used in the article was hysterical. Extremism appears 5 times and extremist 4 times in a very short article. Like this:

“For decades, violent extremist groups have sought to infiltrate our military to gain tactical training and access to explosives,” said Joe Plenzer, a former Marine who spoke at the hearing.
The media never questions these reports of their methodology, just repeating them verbatim as fact.
Anyway. Gain access to explosives? They don’t sell C4 at the PX as far as I know. There have been issues with gun running in the military but that tends to be exclusively gang members selling to their buddies, not “right wing domestic terrorists”.
Meanwhile these “violent extremists” have been pretty thin when it comes to actual violence. On the other hand we have plenty of real violent extremists in this country in black Lives Matter and antifa, and those groups regularly engage in actual violence and mayhem but the Feds can’t be bothered with that.
There are lots of /ourguys/ in the vet community, as well as active duty, and this kind of crap is going to help push more of them into the ranks of the dissidents.
This is the latest step aimed at driving out of the military anyone who has even mildly right-wing views, a description that would have covered pretty much everyone who served in the military in the last century. I am kinda looking forward to China or Russia bloodying our nose when we get into a shooting war and send a bunch of obese lesbians and trannies to fight their forces.

I didn't catch that about Plenzer but you could knock me over with a feather, I am so shocked. You would know better than I but I assume that explosives are kept under pretty serious control, even more so than small arms.
