The Joe Biden campaign (not to be confused with Joe Biden who is locked in a trunk in his basement like the Gimp) has been rolling out the policies they intended to enact and have Joe sign when he is President. One of the big ones is his gun control plan, dressed up as his plan to end “our gun violence epidemic”
While the “gun violence epidemic” is almost exclusively centered in the black and to a lesser extent the mestizo community, most of what Joe’s team is recommending will mostly impact law-abiding White gun owners while proposing ridiculous strategies to address urban gun violence by blacks with community outreach programs instead of putting violent criminals in jail. I am sure that will work. We have already seen what reducing police intervention is doing in our cities and his team promises to double down on this.
As an amusing side-note, the Biden plan mentions Obama seven times even though Joe was not even an afterthought in the Obama administration.
I am going to go through Joe’s plan in some detail so this is going to be a looooong post (for a quicker overview see this story from American Partisan ) but before I leap into this plan….
Two things are important to remember before I begin:
One, this sort of regulation is coming, whether in January 2021 or January 2025. There is no political path for the near-term (10-15 years) that will not result in draconian restrictions on gun ownership, the availability of firearms and ammo for purchasing and a crackdown on free speech with threats to personal firearms as the stick.
Two, these proposals are an opening gambit, not the end goal. The goal is not to simply ban the sale and manufacture of assault weapons* and regulate existing assault weapons, the goal is confiscation and not just of assault weapons but any firearm capable of holding more than a handful of rounds. Ultimately the Left wants to get rid of all handguns and most/all traditional hunting rifles and shotguns. Ten million Americans with bolt-action 30-06 rifles are still a pretty dangerous force. 25 years ago the loathsome Diane Feinstein wanted to round up all the assault weapons…..
….and the Left has only grown more bold with their designs on your firearms. OK, enough with the preliminaries.
The plan starts off with a tactic that is growing more popular in the anti-gun community: using the courts and the cost of lawsuits to shut down legitimate businesses, bleeding them dry while being funded with unlimited resources from leftist groups and billionaires like Michael Bloomberg.
Hold gun manufacturers accountable.
In 2005, then-Senator Biden voted against the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, but gun manufacturers successfully lobbied Congress to secure its passage. This law protects these manufacturers from being held civilly liable for their products – a protection granted to no other industry. Biden will prioritize repealing this protection.
People don’t generally sue other companies when people misuse their products and certainly not in a coordinated effort to shut those entire industries down, not to mention the fact that firearms manufacturers operate in one of the few industries that is Constitutionally protected, and that is why we have special protections for gun manufacturers.
It is not a coincidence that this is the very first proposal Biden’s team lists, it is a powerful tool to start to shut down the civilian firearms marketplace from the production end while the other various proposals are working their way through the court system. Don’t make the mistake of assuming that the Supreme Court will protect our rights. Assuming Ruth Bader Ginsburg lives through the election and keeping in mind that Clarence Thomas is 72 years old and Roberts is far from reliable, the SCOTUS is perilously close to flipping back to a liberal majority and/or Roberts becoming the new Anthony Kennedy, the flip-flopping swing vote for over 30 years.
Businesses exist to make money, and endless lawsuits with no legal protection against frivolous but expensive legal actions can make that pretty difficult. Colt already tried to get out of the civilian market but seems to be coming back. What is really clever about this is that you don’t have to actually even sue them, just the threat of lawsuits will drive businesses to stop selling to the civilian market. Thanks to the endless wars and the Military-Industrial Complex there is plenty of market share for military and law enforcement products, so why would you make stuff for the civilian market when just one mass shooter using your gun can put you on the road to bankruptcy?
Get weapons of war off our streets.
No, Biden is talking about weapons that were actually used in war, he means the very common semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 platform and other scary looking assault weapons*.
Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
Some clever staffer inserted a snarky comment about the capacity limits for shotguns used for duck hunting and wrote: “That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children.”. I will admit that is pretty clever, while disingenuous and inaccurate since the last time I checked it is perfectly legal to shoot a certain number of ducks but it is illegal in every state to shoot children (killing them in the womb is still permitted of course).
The Biden team realizes Democrats made mistakes the last time around that allowed gun owners and manufacturers to get around the assault weapon/high capacity magazine ban. For example, you could still buy high capacity magazines as long as they were already produced before the ban took effect. They won’t make that mistake again and this time there won’t be a ten year sunset provision, the ban will be sweeping and permanent. Biden’s team also promises to put a piece of paper in front of Joe to sign that will ban the importation of assault weapons, so the already thin supplies of Russian and East European AKs will evaporate.
This just deals with the manufacture of new assault weapons but doesn’t address the tens of millions of ARs, AKs, Mini-14s and various and sundry other rifles and pistols capable of accepting high capacity magazines already owned by citizens. Don’t worry, Joe has a plan for that!
Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.
The aspect of the NFA being talked about is the possession of “silencers”/suppressors, fully automatic weapons and short-barreled rifles (SBRs). To own one of these, you need to get a tax stamp, undergo an extensive background check, wait forever and pay an extra $200 and even then the products are very expensive.
What the Biden plan proposes is requiring a national registry of assault weapons* by requiring current owners to go through the NFA process for all of their naughty and scary looking firearms. If gun owners complied in significant numbers (spoiler alert: we won’t), it would cause an incredible backlog. It can already take a very long time to get approval for suppressors or SBRs and they are fairly rare because of the extra expense. Registering tens of millions of new firearms would take years, while creating a gun registry to be used later for confiscation. GTFOH with that crap.
Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities.
How can you “buy back” something you never owned? Basically the plan would give current owners of assault weapons and high capacity magazines a choice: either an expensive and lengthy process of paying the government for the right to own something you already own or selling your firearm to the government for what I am sure will not be fair market value. I choose a third option.
Reduce stockpiling of weapons.
The gist of this is restricting the number of firearms you can purchase to one per month, which is more than most people buy anyway. As for “stockpiling”, it might be a little late to stop that….
Oops. I think we are already stockpiling.
Again, assault weapons are the low hanging fruit but they are just the beginning. The next category in Fun With Gun Grabbing is….
Keep guns out of dangerous hands
Who would be against that? As usual of course, what they say is not what they mean. “Dangerous hands” are regular Americans who might object to seeing their country turned into a Communist hellscape.
Require background checks for all gun sales.
Today, an estimated 1 in 5 firearms are sold or transferred without a background check. Biden will enact universal background check legislation, requiring a background check for all gun sales with very limited exceptions, such as gifts between close family members. This will close the so-called “gun show and online sales loophole” that the Obama-Biden Administration narrowed, but which cannot be fully closed by executive action alone.
I can believe that 20% of sales are private party and I am also sure that after this legislation, 20% of sales will still be private party. There are an estimated 400,000,000 firearms in private hands in America already and a huge chunk of those are already outside of the system. Many people have guns they got from a family member, often that never had a 4473 filled out. Many more have guns they bought privately, at gun shows, estate sales or flea markets. Millions of guns have no traceable paperwork and you can rest assured that people who own those guns are not going to put them into the tracking system. Most sales at the gun shows I have been to are done by licensed dealers and they are already doing background checks, so really the “gun show loophole” is bogus in the first place but the point here is to start getting as many firearms through a backdoor registry as possible. Every firearm sale that generates a 4473 creates a paper trail to be used later.
Reinstate the Obama-Biden policy to keep guns out of the hands of certain people unable to manage their affairs for mental reasons, which President Trump reversed.
Perhaps the most ironic proposal, given that Joe Biden clearly can’t manage his own affairs for mental reasons and likely the same is true for most of his bodily functions. People who are suffering from any form of mental illness could be declared unfit by a “mental health professional” and there is no group in America that has a higher percentage of mentally ill whack-jobs than “mental health professionals”. What this will ensure is that people who have issues will not go see a doctor for fear of being flagged.
Close the “hate crime loophole.”
Biden will enact legislation prohibiting an individual “who has been convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime, or received an enhanced sentence for a misdemeanor because of hate or bias in its commission” from purchasing or possessing a firearm.
This is an important one. A misdemeanor is not enough to keep you from buying a firearm today unless it is a domestic violence misdemeanor. Now committing a “hate crime”, which is an inherently vague and generally impossible to prove charge, can prevent you from purchasing or possessing a firearm. Given the incredibly high percentage of reported “hate crimes” that turn out to be hoaxes, this is a dangerous proposal and it tramples all over the 1st and 4th Amendments. Under Biden, “hate crime” legislation will certainly be widely expanded, meaning that all sorts of behavior that is not criminal for any reason other than what is supposed to be protected political speech will be enough to prevent you from owning a firearm. All “hate crime” legislation is designed to squash political free speech. Period.
Close the “Charleston loophole.”
Right now, if you want to purchase a firearm from a dealer you have to pass a background check, either through the FBI NICS system or a state system. The system is squirrely as hell and looks like it was designed by a kid in his first computer programming class at a community college. You can get a “proceed” which means you can sell them the firearm, or you can get a hard decline or you can get a delay. Sometimes the delay is 5 minutes or later that day or days later but because it is unreasonable to prevent someone from making a purchase indefinitely, there is a rule that if the delay goes more than three business days the buyer can get the firearm and if it later comes back with a decline, the ATF has to deal with it. Biden wants to expand that to ten business days. So if a customer wants to buy a firearm from a dealer today and gets a delay, he might have to wait ten business days starting tomorrow and then after that tenth business day pick up their firearm. Today is July 13th so that would mean your purchase could be delayed until July 28th. How about fixing the crappy NICS system so it works properly instead of stretching out the amount of time you can delay a sale?
Close the “fugitive from justice” loophole created by the Trump Administration
I don’t know much about this one, it seems fairly innocuous but since the Gifford center is pushing it I will assume it is bad.
Next up is a big one:
End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions
“Ammunitions”? Nice spelling error idiots. Here is the proposal.
Biden will enact legislation to prohibit all online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts.
That means no online retailers selling firearms, even though those firearms must go to a licensed FFL dealer for processing. People are not having firearms delivered to their house, other than licensed FFL dealers who operate out of their home. Instead of being restricted to what your local gun store has in stock, which is by it’s nature limited, you can order what you want and have it delivered to the LGS but otherwise the process for buying a gun is exactly the same.
The ammunition one is a big deal, most people who shoot even semi-seriously buy online. That will end. I assume you will have to buy from local retailers, which means you will definitely be paying a higher price. Since Wal-Mart is basically out of the ammo market and even stores like Michigan based Meijer are following suit, only smaller retailers will still carry ammo.
Kits and gun parts refers mainly, I assume, to things like Palmetto State AR-15 kits where you can build your own AR after you get a stripped lower receiver. The receiver is the only serialized part of an AR-15 so it has to be run through an FFL but once you have the stripped lower you can buy your kit anywhere you want, with whatever features you want, and have it shipped directly to your house. Building your own AR isn’t really much cheaper and you still have to buy a stripped lower through an FFL but people enjoy it. That will go away. I am not sure based on what I am reading but “gun parts” could mean just about anything, from scope rings to stocks. If you can’t sell those online, that will again make things much harder to get and more expensive.
Onward we go….
Create an effective program to ensure individuals who become prohibited from possessing firearms relinquish their weapons
This is a sketchy one. This will Federalize the process of keeping track of people who have lost their right to own a firearm and then making the ATF and FBI track them down and make sure they have given up all of their guns. Given how many violent criminals seem to have nevertheless obtained a firearm to commit a new crime, I am not sure how this is going to be even possible. How many additional agents are they going to hire to do this work? Are they going to get search warrants and scour the houses of these people? There are at least one million violent crimes committed every year. With 365 days in a year, that works out to an average of over 2,700 violent crimes every single day. How is the ATF/FBI going to track down all of these people and make sure they surrender their firearms, especially since criminals are just going to buy another gun off the street illegally anyway?
This sounds like a swell idea on paper but practically speaking it is an impossible task.
I am combining the next two:
Incentivize state “extreme risk” laws
Give states incentives to set up gun licensing programs
These two are examples of what happens when so much of the national economic output is filtered through the Federal government. What the Biden team means by “incentives” is basically taking money out of a state via taxation and then only “giving” it back if the state does what the Feds say. You want some of that sweet, sweet Federal money? You have to have “red flag laws” and create a gun registry. It is kind of clever, there isn’t a reliable mechanism for creating a national gun registry right now so Biden’s team is planning on withholding Federal funds unless states do their dirty work for them. Several states, not coincidentally liberal states, already have something like this in place so they get more Fed-Bux. States like mine will get left out.
It is extortion, pure and simple.
Adequately fund the background check system
This should already be done and it should be directed at making sure that not only are prohibited people properly entered into the system but that the damn system works properly more than some of the time.
That brings us to a major subsection:
ADDRESSING THE DEADLY COMBINATION OF GUNS AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
This is another great example of hiding gun grabbing under rhetoric that no one should oppose. No one likes domestic violence. I find it revolting that a man would hit a woman. However you need to dig into his proposals to see that it is extraordinarily problematic. For example:
Biden also supports enacting the proposal to prohibit anyone under a temporary restraining order from purchasing or possessing a firearm before their hearing.
The key words there are “temporary” and “possessing….before their hearing”. Here is a little scenario. There is a marriage breaking up and it is acrimonious. The wife wants sole custody of the kids and as often happens she accuses her husband of domestic abuse and files for a restraining order. According to the Biden team, the husband should be prohibited from possessing a firearm before his hearing. There is no presumption of innocence, if she says he hits her and she files a restraining order, he has to surrender his guns and who knows when or even if he will get them back. When the cops get someone’s guns, it is a nightmare to get them back. All it takes is the filing of a temporary restraining order and you have to surrender your firearms. I can’t see how that could be abused but Biden’s team is relying on a massive turnout from screechy White women and they all assume their husbands are secretly plotting to kill them, mostly because they are so bitchy that their husbands really are plotting to kill them.
Also this…
Establish a new Task Force on Online Harassment and Abuse to focus on the connection between mass shootings, online harassment, extremism, and violence against women
A task force that focuses on “extremism”. Guess what that means. If you utter WrongThink about women online, you get labelled as an “extremist” and you can bet at some point this “Task Force” will recommend that saying “misogynistic” things online warrants a visit from the police and perhaps a red flag.
Notice how so many of these proposals about “gun violence” also seem to be aimed at suppressing the First Amendment? Weird, right? It almost seems as if the focus here is not really on gun violence at all but that can’t be true. Can it?
Upward….
Make sure firearm owners take on the responsibility of ensuring their weapons are used safely.
Who would be against that? The NRA has been at the forefront of actual gun safety for decades but we can’t say anything nice about them.
Put America on the path to ensuring that 100% of firearms sold in America are smart guns
A “smart gun” means a firearm that has fingerprint recognition embedded in the grip so it can only be fired by the owner. That sounds swell but it is also a huge cost increase, making guns more expensive for everyone. If your phone doesn’t unlock properly based on your fingerprint, that isn’t a big deal. If your firearm won’t work when your family is threatened because the technology fails? That is a big deal. Firearms get dirty and banged around and there is a lot of vibration and shock when you fire them. This is just a bullshit backdoor to making guns too expensive to purchase.
Hold adults accountable for giving minors access to firearms.
Biden supports legislation holding adults criminally and civilly liable for directly or negligently giving a minor access to a firearm, regardless of whether the minor actually gains possession of the firearm.
Read that last part again. You can be held criminally liable for giving a minor “access” to a firearm even if they don’t actually gain possession. The mere knowledge of how to access the gun is a crime. If my kids know the combination to my gun safe, that makes me a criminal. I always knew where the key was to my dad’s gun cabinet but I didn’t shoot anyone because he also taught me to be responsible with guns. Sometimes parents can do things like…parent.
Require gun owners to safely store their weapons.
Biden will pass legislation requiring firearm owners to store weapons safely in their homes.
Great but how to you enforce that? If you have a firearm for self-defense in the house, you probably don’t lock it in your main gun safe because by the time you get to it, it is already too late. I am all in favor of securing your firearms but a Federal law mandating it? No thanks.
Another amusing line item:
Empower law enforcement to effectively enforce our gun laws
Did Joe’s team miss the whole “defund the police” movement and that apparently all cops are White supremacists, even the black and mestizo ones? How do they effectively enforce gun laws when the places where gun violence is a problem are trying to take away funding from their police?
Prioritize prosecution of straw purchasers
“Straw purchasers” buy a firearm on behalf of an individual who cannot pass a background check. Biden will end those loopholes by enacting a law to make all straw purchases a serious federal crime and ensure the U.S. Justice Department has sufficient resources to prioritize their prosecution.
What loophole? His team keeps using that term because they know that soccer moms think “loophole” is code for “someone is going to shoot your kids”. It is already a felony to “straw purchase” a firearm. Is it going to be a much more seriouser felony? I am fine with going after people who are engaged in straw purchases but that already is against the law.
Notify law enforcement when a potential firearms purchaser fails a background check
Again that sounds swell but where do we get the manpower to do that? Tens of thousands of people fail background checks every year and lot of them are declined in error. Ironically since Biden’s team endlessly reminds people Biden was Obama’s VP, when Obama was President there was very little of this going on. From pre-Trump derangement National Review in 2017:
Yesterday on Fox News, Ted Cruz went after the Obama administration because “in 2010, 48,000 felons & fugitives lied and illegally tried to purchase guns, [the Obama administration] prosecuted only 44 of them.” He touted a 2013 bill he co-sponsored that, among many other gun-related provisions, would have created a task force and allocated $50 million over five years to prosecute more people who try to buy guns and are rejected during the background check.
Whoops! On the other hand, given the huge number of false denials I am not sure we want to spend too much time trying to go after people for failing a background check.
Require firearms owners to report if their weapon is lost or stolen.
Responsible gun owners have a responsibility to inform law enforcement if their weapon is lost or stolen. Biden will enact legislation to make this the law of the land.
I doubt many responsible gun owners don’t report stolen firearms. Any gun I purchase through normal means can be traced back to me so if my personal guns get stolen, I am reporting it for sure. I certainly don’t want a visit from the ATF or FBI to explain why one of my guns was used in a murder.
Stop “ghost guns.”
“Ghost guns” are one of those scary terms that are used to frighten the ignorant. Yes, you can 3D print some receivers and yes you can buy an “80% lower” for an AR or a handgun that you can finish yourself without having to go through a background check but it isn’t all that easy to do. I don’t know the statistics but I really doubt that there have been more than a handful of crimes committed with “ghost guns”. That doesn’t matter because it sounds like something scary. Anyway, the code for printing 3D receivers is widely available for anyone who wants it and trying to ban something like that from the internet is just about impossible. Joe would understand this is a) he was actually involved in drafting any of these proposals and b) he knew what the internet was.
Reform, fund, and empower the U.S. Justice Department to enforce our gun laws
More funding for more Federal bureaucrats. That will stop the fellas from shooting each other for sure!
Direct the ATF to issue an annual report on firearms trafficking
Another report that no one reads and that means nothing. More unionized Federal bureaucrats doing meaningless work. Vintage Democrat proposal.
Since Joe depends on massive support from the black community, and why they support him is baffling, his team devoted a whole section to the euphemistically titled “urban gun violence”..
TACKLE URBAN GUN VIOLENCE WITH TARGETED, EVIDENCE-BASED COMMUNITY INTERVENTIONS
If you didn’t catch it, “urban gun violence” is liberal code for “blacks and mestizos shooting other blacks and mestizos, but mostly blacks”. Biden’s team even admits this:
And, these daily acts of gun violence disproportionately impact communities of color.
The dirty not-so-secret of gun violence in America is that it mostly occurs in, victimizes and is perpetrated by blacks and mestizos. Absent those two demographic groups, America is at least as safe as European nations in terms of murder. Those same two groups are drastically over-represented in most other violent crime, from assault to rape. In other words, violent crime is a black thang. We can’t ask blacks to behave better so we have to find excuses for their actions and “solutions”. As usual the “solutions” are bullshit but involve money….
Biden will create a $900 million, eight-year initiative to fund these and other types of evidence-based interventions in 40 cities across the country
The whole section is just a litany of BS from the Giffords center and the money will be funneled to community activist types and do nothing to actually reduce gun violence. Then it just gets silly…
Dedicate the brightest scientific minds to solving the gun violence public health epidemic
Gun violence? We have top men (and woman and gender non-binary) working on it.
What a joke. Giving the Centers for Disease Control $50 million to “researching the causes and prevention of gun violence”? I can tell you the causes. Low impulse control, poor upbringing, making excuses for poor behavior and a culture that sees violence as a legitimate response to petty disagreements. There, send that $50 million my way.
Quick question: In the middle of a pandemic, shouldn’t the CDC and NIH be focusing on actual diseases instead of social ills?
Prohibit the use of federal funds to arm or train educators to discharge firearms
What clumsy phrasing. Training people to “discharge firearms”? Since we are defunding the police and kicking police out of schools, it makes perfect sense to not train and equip teachers to defend themselves and their students. I don’t trust the vast majority of public school teachers to teach my kids or to not molest their students so I don’t really want them carrying guns but making an already soft target even softer isn’t going to solve anything.
Address the epidemic of suicides by firearms
This is another throw-away, feel-good line item. Suicide is a serious issue but it isn’t a Federal issue.
Finally the last major sub-section
SUPPORTING SURVIVORS OF VIOLENCE AND THEIR COMMUNITIES
What does that mean? Not much other than this:
Biden will then invest significant federal funds in expanding and improving the federal government’s support for trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
Since we aren’t going to do anything to reduce actual gun violence, we need the Federal government to provide counseling for people who are victimized by gun violence. There really isn’t any issue at all that the Left doesn’t assume can be solved by a new Federal bureaucracy and a bunch of money spent on bureaucrats and paperwork. The rest of the section is gobbledygook.
So there you have it, and I feel dirty and less intelligent for having waded through that cesspool of stupidity but I do this for you, the reader.

As a reminder from the beginning of the post. This is going to happen and it is only the first steps toward the eventual goal of complete disarmament of the American people. Biden is just the puppet, a particularly dumb back in his better days and now completely insensate puppet to be sure. He can’t even work up a good groping of a 9 year old girl these days but he can run for President and sign what is put in front of him, and what will be put in front of him early and often is gun control.
Your task today is not just trying to convince NormieCon gun owners to show up to vote but also to prepare yourself and your family for the new normal under a strict gun control police state.
You will not be able to buy ammo online.
You will not be able to buy semi-auto rifles with magazines that hold more than ten rounds, and the same goes for handguns. I guess the 1911 is back on the menu.
You will not able to buy the exact firearm you want and have it shipped to your FFL, you will have to buy what is on hand or hope that your LGS can special order it but most of what you want to buy will be illegal anyway.
This is going to be reality, whether in six month or in four years and six months.
You have a precious gift right now, the gift of time. You can see the warning signs and the Biden team has laid out in front of you what they are going to do when he is in office. If you fail to spend the next six months preparing, the fault will be your own.
*Throughout this post assume the quotation marks around the misnomer “assault weapons”
