Welcome To The New Equality

Since the early days of the Civil Rights era, the one concept that came up again and again was “equality”. It goes back to the words written by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Clearly what Jefferson meant by equal was different from what we assume “equality” means today. Jefferson owned slaves and while there is some evidence that he supported gradual emancipation, there are also ample indications that he didn’t consider blacks to be “equal”, as in without distinction from whites.

Most Americans from the 1960s on would assume that “equality” would mean “equal access to opportunity”, rather than equality of outcome. Not anymore.

Today equality carries with it two new necessary conditions:

– First, any difference between people of different races or gender or “sexual orientation” are inherently the result of discrimination and “injustice”. It never has anything to do with differences in natural ability or effort, except in professional sports. If a white makes a buck more than a black doing a similar job, that is an injustice. If a man makes more than a woman? Injustice. It doesn’t matter if the white guy is better at his job, any difference is injustice.

– Second, equality today is inextricably linked with vengeance for the wrongs of the past. Whether a person experienced those wrongs or not, or even if they actually happened or not, is irrelevant. Likewise, it matters not if someone perpetrated wrongs against others. Your race, sexual orientation and gender are enough to be found guilty. As a heterosexual white man I am as guilty of slavery, Jim Crow laws, gay bashing and rape as the people who actually did those things.

From the Civil Rights onward, America has spent trillions to fight poverty and inequality. Entire Federal agencies are tasked with ensuring no one is denied anything. “Civil rights” groups like the SPLC and NAACP have raked in untold millions “fighting injustice”. Schools were desegregated, blacks were given preferential admission to universities and jobs. Americans have been marinated in the narrative of racial grievances, making whites feel guilty and black feel resentful.

The result?

Complete and utter failure. 

The black family has been mostly destroyed. Generation after generation of single mothers raising boys to become irresponsible, absent fathers and girls who in turn get pregnant out of wedlock.

A huge percentage of the black community are permanent wards of the state, entirely dependent on the labor of others for simple things like food and housing.

Violent crime in the black community is at epidemic levels but no one is allowed to talk about it. In 24 hours in Chicago, 18 people were murdered and it appears most or all of them were black and it is a very safe assumption that the killers were all black men. Widespread violence happens every weekend across our cities and mostly involves blacks.

Black achievement in education is at a standstill except where grade inflation gives the appearance of improvement, until faced with standardized tests.

Blacks lag whites, Asians and even mestizos in almost every category except incarceration rates and violent criminal behavior.

The great experiment failed.

Faced with this failure, the Powers That Be have a choice. They can pretend that it is working and just needs a little more money, the standard tactics for decades. They can give up and just learn to accept differences in outcome for different people. Or they can change their tactics entirely.

They seem to have chosen the third alternative.

If you can’t bring blacks up to equality with whites, you just have to drag whites down to equality with blacks.

Case in point. Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender, an AWFL if I have ever seen one, was being interviewed by CNN and, shockingly, was asked the big question everyone is raising about her notion of defunding and eventually eliminating the police: without the police, who are you supposed to call in the event of crime?

“Do you understand that the word dismantle, or police-free, also makes some people nervous, for instance, what if, in the middle of the night, my home is broken into,” Camerota asked. “Who do I call?”

“Yes, I mean I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors, and myself, too, and I know that that comes from a place of privilege,” Bender responded. “For those of us for whom the system is working, I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done.”

Ah. It is white privilege to be able to call the police that you fund with your tax dollars if someone is breaking into your house. I am as sure as I can be that Lisa doesn’t mean that homeowners should be legally shielded for defending their homes from intruders with deadly force. Nah, I assume she means that white people should just let people take their cars and ransack their homes. After all, that is what insurance is for. If your wife gets raped? Well, I guess she had it coming because of how badly the slaves were treated.

When a black person has their home broken into or someone shoots their kid, they call the police too. The cops show up and try to figure out what happened. They often get no help from witnesses but then “civil rights leaders” bitch because black on black crime is rarely solved.

What was most telling about that statement from Lisa Bender is that, besides her coming across in the video like a bimbo who isn’t qualified to run a local PTA, she had no answer. What do we tell people who understandably wonder who they should call if someone breaks into their house? Apparently the answer is “no one”, you should just take the opportunity to reflect on how tough it is for black people. Ignore for a moment the fact that the people calling the cops are probably disproportionately black and the people the cops are being called on are also disproportionately black. Hell, why didn’t she just say what she was thinking. If someone breaks into your house, you should grovel and beg forgiveness for the sins of white privilege right before they rape you.

Later on Monday, not content with one interview on CNN that makes her look like a complete twit, she doubled down on her idea of a police-free society:

Host Chris Cuomo told her: “When you say you see someday being police-free that sounds aspirational, a utopian concept where nobody’s committing any crime, because as long as these communities are being preyed upon, both from within and without, there’s gonna have to be good men and women willing to step up to keep people safe.”

She replied: “I think the idea of having a police-free future is very aspirational, and I am willing to stand with community members who are asking us to think of that as the goal.”

When Chris Cuomo is coming across as the reasonable one in a conversation, things aren’t going well for you. Again, we don’t have crime because of the presence of the police, we have the police because millions of people would rather commit crime than be decent people.

Meanwhile in the solid “conservative” state of Kentucky, the new governor Andy Beshear has decided that blacks in his state should be given universal health insurance coverage based on their race:

Gov. Andy Beshear: We need to provide health insurance for all black Kentuckians

Citing racial disparities in health outcomes, Gov. Andy Beshear said he wants to find a way to provide health insurance for all of the state’s African Americans.

“Inequality has resulted in death,” Beshear said during his Monday press conference. “We’ve got to take some action right now.”

He did not share specifics on how they would be covered, but mentioned potentially using a mix of Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance. It would be a “direct effort” of his administration to sign up as many people as possible, Beshear said.

“I’m not going to be happy with 99.5 (percent of African Americans),” Beshear said.

Kentucky’s black community has been disproportionately hit during the coronavirus pandemic, accounting for 16% of the state’s cases but only making up 8% of the state’s population.

No mention, as usual, of blacks being more likely to exhibit health issues that amplify the lethality of coronavirus like morbid obesity and also no mention of blacks apparently deciding since the beginning of the pandemic to ignore the stay at home orders and social distancing recommendations.

How can anyone think Trump wins re-election when once solid states like Kentucky elect idiot liberals like Beshear? This proposal is obviously unconstitutional on it’s face but just wait until this sort of thing becomes Federal law and is given the stamp of approval by a Supreme Court packed with Communists appointed by President Stacey Abrams.

Apparently after trillions in transfer payments and untold billions in law enforcement not causing a dent in black crime, we should just give up on the idea of enforcing the laws in the hope that will case people to, uh, stop breaking the law. If we can’t reduce lawlessness and violent crime in the black community, I guess we will just have to introduce the same levels of violent crime in white communities.

See, equality wins!

Equality can mean everyone has the same opportunities in America.

Or equality can mean no one can have more than anyone else so we all get reduced to the lowest common denominator.

You can see which option is going to be implemented in the very near future.

    The Left's goal, as I see it, is not to get rid of police but replace them with Leftist police.

    The Left wants police power, but that power should be under their control.

    When I see uniformed members of law enforcement kneeling or groveling at the feet of the ferals I want to dismember, uh, disband them, too. But that thorny question of "Who ya gonna call?" should give even the blacks pause. In my experience, they don't hesitate to sic da po-po on one another, so I call bullsh!t on their 'fear' of the authorities. Like all spoiled children, they want what they want when they want it. Anything less is unacceptable and worthy of a tantrum.

    So, to all the terribly woke-folk, when Sh'itstainious and La'Trina decide to share in the material wealth you've spent your entire adult life accumulating without first securing your permission, who ya gonna call?

    I suppose AWFL Karen will call the manager. But the rest of us? Might as well call Ghostbusters.
