Mass Shooting Alert! Funerals Are Dangerous Edition

A man from Bogalusa, Louisiana was reported missing earlier in May and subsequently found apparently murdered a few days late. The man, 29 year old man, Dominique Audrell James, was found dead in his car.

On Saturday a memorial service was held for Mr. James in Bogalusa, a town of around 12,000 people. That is when things went sideways.

At least 13 injured in Bogalusa shooting near memorial service for murdered man, police say

At least 13 people were wounded, one critically, after a shooting in Bogalusa on Saturday just after 9 p.m., according to the Bogalusa Police Department.

The shooting occurred near Martin Luther King Drive and East 4th Street where a large crowd was gathered for a memorial service for a man who was recently found murdered and whose body had been left in the woods, police said.

Bogalusa police began receiving calls about gunshots at 9:12 p.m. and responding officers arrived at the scene to find a large crowd gathered for what appeared to be a memorial service for Dominique Audrell James, who was found dead in his car Friday morning in a heavily wooded area a few miles west of the city.

That is a pretty significant mass shooting but I would imagine most people won’t hear anything about it. The reasons are apparent.

Mass shootings are going on just as before, but they still receive very little coverage in the media because the shooters and those shot aren’t not what the media is looking for.

** Update **

I see Fox News is now covering the story as well:
