More proof that it is totally real!
The Maumee River in Indiana this morning.
Yes, I get it that “weather is not climate” and that is why we talk about “climate change” instead of “global warming” because no matter what happens the climate is always changing. Simply put, these “climate change activists” have no idea what is happening or what, if anything, can or even should be done about it. They can’t even predict the weather in the same day with any accuracy.
Also, many people think the Midwest is boring and ugly. I get that too, if you are just driving down the expressway the Midwest looks like endless cornfields interspersed with highway exits full of fast food joints. But if you get off the expressway and start to explore, the Midwest has a beauty and charm that we just love. Mountains and forests are great too but for us the simple beauty of a snowy morning in Indiana tops them all.
Great pictures. I moved to the Midwest from the mountains – took me a while to understand the subtle beauty that really does exist here.
We lived in Wyoming for a while and loved the mountains, as well as in New Hampshire which sort of has mountains, but it just wasn't home.
The Mrs. showed me this – she was going to calligrify it and I thought of this post:
God's joy moves from unmarked box to unmarked box
from cell to cell. As rainwater, down into flowerbed.
As roses, up from the ground.
Now it looks like a a plate of rice and fish,
now a cliff covered with vines,
now a horse being saddled.
It hides within these,
til one day it cracks them open.
