As a rule, I don’t go to the theater to see a movie. I don’t have Netflix or Amazon Prime. I don’t even use Redbox. Anything that directly subsidizes the people in Hollywood that hate me and my family and are working to destroy us (when they aren’t raping little kids) doesn’t get my money. But if I were to gamble a few bucks on going to a movie, it might be the new Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix. In a world where so many trailers are a giant red flag of a movie that is going to be crap (like the Ghostbusters remake a few years ago), the final Joker trailer has a like/dislike ratio of 622,000 to 17,000 which is 97% positive. Early reviews seem to echo this. Here is the trailer:
A lot of people like this line, which I thought was delivered perfectly in response to Joker’s therapist.
You don’t listen, do you? You just ask the same questions every week. How’s your job? Are you having any negative thoughts?
All I have are negative thoughts.
This is a lot more common than many people suspect. There are a lot of people who see things coming apart as part of an intentional plan and are feel hopeless about the future. Many people are black-pilled without even realizing. They just try to keep their head down and make it to and from work each day but that is no way to live. There is honor and dignity in work but working just to survive long enough to go to work the next day is soul crushing. It all comes back to the realization that there are two types of people in this world, the small ruling class that has an infinitely malleable set of “rules” and the rest of us who are crushed under an increasingly capricious system while being told that we are to blame for every ill in the world.
I am not going to spend money to see it anyway but I will probably give it a watch at some point. It seems like a perfect movie for the days we are living in….
I don’t have much respect for the antifa-types, burning trash-can globalism protesters because they are mostly sheep who have never taken a moment to think about why the things they are angry about exist. They unironically live tweet their juvenile acts of “defiance” using electronic devices made by the same giant global corporations they supposedly oppose.
If they are ever did take a moment to think about why the things they are angry about exist, they would realize the that the people they hate in corporations but love in government are the same people. Yes corporations bribe the government, but the government extorts corporations. It is a giant cash grab and they are all getting rich while the rest of the country descends into chaos and despair. These idiots think Bernie Sanders really care about them and is the champion of the workers. The guy has never worked an honest day in his life, he loathes labor. To be fair, there are a lot of “conservatives” who think Trump is one of us. He isn’t an evangelical Christian, he doesn’t believe in the 2nd Amendment and he obviously cares more about the welfare of Israelis than he does about his own supporters. Self-delusion knows no party lines.
This isn’t to say there isn’t a reason for people to be enraged. There absolutely is. But simply put their rage is most often misplaced. They are manipulated into being angry at Group A by Group B while people in Group B are manipulated into being angry at Group A. Neither group understands that there is a third group that is really screwing things over.
Maybe Joker will be a flop or more PC than they are letting on but it is already making people on the Left terribly upset before it even comes out and that is always a good sign. With any luck it will make people stop and think for a moment instead of just being a two hour diversion. The more people realize we are living in Clown World and that there is no way to fix it, the better.
I'll throw myself on that one for you. I'll let you know how it was.
