Did anyone ever imagine that giving the government the power to buy votes with trillions of dollars of stolen money would NOT descend into a massive war between those who are bribed (rich and poor) – and those forced to pay? Democracy as it is practiced today is little more than taking money from some people at gunpoint and using that money to bribe other people for their votes. Even though we are a republic, the temptation is still there. There is a very thin line indeed between democracy and mob rule.
